Registration Frequently Asked Questions

How do I register on-line?

Question:  How do I register on-line?
Answer:  Simply click on any event in our continuing education calendar and all the information regarding the workshop will be displayed, including registration instructions. For NASW-VA Sponsored events, it's as easy as clicking on on "Register for Event Now." Fill out the all the required fields and you are all set! You will be prompted to log-in or to create a User ID and password (regardless if you are a member or not), which can be used to save your information for future registrations.

Question:  Can I fill out the on-line form even if I want to mail in my payment?
Answer:  YES! We keep track of our attendees through our website. By filling out the requested information online, it helps to ensure that you will be on the master list and will therefore avoid any unforseeable registration snafoos. After filling out the registration form, click on "Click here to be billed for this transaction."  Print and mail the invoice with payment to the Chapter office. Make sure you allow ample time for your payment to get to us.

Question:  We would like to register a group. How can we do that?
Answer:  Group Registrations are welcome!  A 10% discount on the total registration fee will be given to 3 or more participants from the same agency or organization. Use the same method described above to register each individual, print out invoices for ALL the attendees in your group and submit them simultaneously, along with payment. All fees must be paid using one company check or credit card, and received along with the registration forms, in order for the 10% discount to apply.

Question:  Is there a deadline for registration?
Answer:  You may register up until 12:00 (noon) the day before the workshop. You may register at the door the day of the event for the same rate, plus 10% of the workshop fee.

Question:  Will I receive confirmation of my registration?
Answer:  When registering online, you will receive an e-mail confirming your registration. You may also call the Chapter office at (804) 204-1339 to verify your registration. We do not mail confirmations.

Question:  What if I need to cancel?
Answer:  Please call the Chapter office to cancel your registration.  If a registrant cancels more than 7 days before the event, a refund will be issued by check, minus a 10% administrative fee. If cancellation occurs less than 7 days prior to the event, we WILL NOT issue a refund, but will issue a credit towards a future training.

Question:  What is the cancellation policy if NASW-VA cancels an event?
Answer:  NASW-VA reserves the right to cancel a program if minimum attendance requirements are not met or due to circumstances beyond our control. If a workshop is cancelled in advance, you will be notified by e-mail and receive a full refund by check. In the case of inclement weather or other extreme conditions, every effort will be made to post an announcement on the website and Chapter voicemail system. Please review our Inclement Weather Policy for more information.

Question:  Are meals included?
Answer:  Meals are NOT included unless otherwise indicated. Normally, there will be a break scheduled during a workshop for lunch or a snack on your own. Pre-paid box lunches are available for some events and should be paid with your registration.

Question:  How can I get directions to a workshop?
Answer:  Click on the "Map Event" link in our Continuing Education calendar to get a map and/or directions to the workshop from MapQuest. You may also call the Chapter office and we would be more than happy to have directions faxed to you.

Question:  I don't see the answer to my question. Who can I contact?
